Tehran City Council Member: 15 People Die Every Day Due to Air Pollution in the Capital

Shahrbanu Amani, a member of Tehran City Council, announced that 15 people die every day due to air pollution in the capital.

On Sunday, December 7, in a speech before the Tehran City Council meeting, Ms. Amani attributed the air pollution problem to mismanagement and said: "This mismanagement is not limited to mistakes, some people have gone further and intentionally or unintentionally encroached on the rights of citizens."

He added: "Unfortunately, Tehran's soul is numbered."

This member of the Tehran City Council also considered the amount of measures taken to reduce air pollution in Tehran to be insufficient.

Over the past few weeks, as air pollution levels in Tehran have increased, the capital's air has been declared "unhealthy" for all groups on many days.
