Alireza Nouri was transferred to Hamedan Prison to serve his sentence.

On Thursday, February 13, Alireza Nouri, a poet, writer, and member of the Iranian Writers' Association, was arrested by the Hamedan Intelligence and Security Police at his home and transferred to Hamedan Prison to serve his sentence. In June 2017, he was sentenced to two years in prison by the Hamadan Criminal Court, and the sentence was confirmed in its entirety by the Court of Appeal.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, today, Thursday, February 13, 2020, Alireza Nouri, a poet, writer, and member of the Iranian Writers' Association, was arrested by security forces at his private home.

Mr. Nouri was arrested this morning on a warrant issued by Branch 5 of the Hamedan Prosecutor's Office to execute his 2-year sentence. This member of the Iranian Writers' Association has been transferred to Hamedan Prison to serve his sentence.

Alireza Nouri's case was opened in October 2016. In June 2017, he was tried by Branch 104 of Hamedan Criminal Court No. 2 on charges of "insulting sacred places" and sentenced to two years in prison.

Examples of this accusation include some of Nouri's poems that were published on social media. Although he denied the accusation, the Court of Appeals in November 2017 upheld the verdict of the lower court.

On Monday, July 2, 2020, he was summoned to Hamedan Branch 5 for the execution of his prison sentence, and ultimately the execution of his prison sentence was suspended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
