Former Khuzestan police commander announces arrest of 1,250 people on security charges in 3 years

On Wednesday, October 2, Heydar Abbaszadeh, former police commander of Khuzestan Province, announced the arrest of 1,250 citizens on security charges over the past 3 years.

According to HRANA news agency, citing IRNA, today, Wednesday, October 2, 2020, the former police commander of Khuzestan province announced the arrest of 1,250 people over a three-year period under the title of "members of separatist groups and individuals."

According to him, the arrests of these individuals were carried out with the cooperation of the intelligence community, with 36 of them being arrested as a gang and the rest individually.

Abbaszadeh also pointed out that over 15,200 weapons have been collected in the past three years in the form of 100 projects, claiming that the collection of these weapons was not carried out by searching the homes of this number of individuals, and that these collection projects sought out weapons dealers.

Heydar Abbaszadeh also said that over the past 3 years, about 20,000 complaints regarding unauthorized shooting have been registered in this province, and during this period, 84% of the perpetrators of the shootings have been identified.
