Four-story building collapses in Kermanshah, killing two

The collapse of a four-story building in the city of Nosud, Kermanshah province, has left at least two people dead so far.
According to news agencies in Iran, it is still unclear what caused the incident on the morning of Thursday, June 9, but Mojtaba Khalidi, a spokesman for the country's emergency services, has suggested that the cause of the incident was an "explosion caused by a gas leak."
The CEO of the Kermanshah Provincial Red Crescent Society also said that the building was "completely" destroyed by a "gas explosion" and that "two neighboring houses were also destroyed."
According to reports, as of Thursday afternoon, in addition to the two deaths, six injured people had been pulled from the rubble, four of whom were described as in critical condition.
The CEO of the Kermanshah Provincial Red Crescent Society said: "A gas explosion led to the complete destruction of a four-story building in Paveh city, and two neighboring houses were also destroyed."
Building safety in Iran has received increased media attention following the collapse of the Metropole structure in Abadan. Official sources have announced that there are 129 "highly dangerous" buildings in Tehran.
On June 2nd, the Metropole twin towers collapsed in the center of Abadan, killing at least 41 people.
