Arrest of Christian citizen Somayeh Rajabi in Babol

"Sumiyeh Rajabi," a Christian citizen, was arrested in Babol on Thursday evening.
According to published reports, on the evening of Thursday, February 8, security agents from the Babol Guard Intelligence raided a garden in the city of "Getab" in Babol County, where Christian citizens were gathering and praying, and arrested Somayeh Rajabi and transferred her to prison.
According to reports published by some attendees at the meeting, about eighty Christians were present at the gathering, and were treated inappropriately after the intelligence agents raided the gathering. The IRGC agents took away all the holy books, musical instruments used for worship, and digital devices belonging to these citizens.
The officers also forced the people present at the gathering to provide their personal information and mobile phone passwords, and after body searches, they severely assaulted and tore off those wearing cross necklaces, and also prevented the injured from receiving medical care.
A day after her arrest, Somayeh Rajabari announced in a brief phone call to her family that she had been transferred to a prison in Sari, but so far no detailed information is available about the charges against her.
The arrest of Christians in Iran comes despite the fact that, according to Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "Everyone has the right to freedom of religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in his religion or belief."
Unfortunately, Christians in Iran have been subjected to harassment, oppression, arrest, and torture in the past, and even the news of their arrests remains secret due to threats from their families. Many of them may have faced heavy fines and even long prison sentences, but no news about them is published.
