The cry for freedom for 340 Zoroastrians, support for Reza Pahlavi and rejection of the Islamic Republic

340 Zoroastrians raise their voices of solidarity and rejection of the Islamic Republic by shouting protest against the Islamic Republic and declaring their support for Reza Pahlavi.

In the days when Iran is engaged in one of the largest waves of popular protests in the last four decades, 340 Zoroastrian Iranians issued a strong and unprecedented statement condemning the crimes of the Islamic Republic against the people during the Iranian National Revolution and declaring their support for Prince Reza Pahlavi.

In this statement, the signatories emphasized that in order to transition from "darkness to the light of truth," Iran needs national solidarity and reliance on symbols and values rooted in historical memory and Iranian identity.

Zoroastrians also called the lion and sun flag a symbol of historical continuity, national sovereignty, and the connection between contemporary Iran and ancient Iran and the Iran of the future, and called for widespread solidarity around this symbol.

The statement reads: "On the path of national transition and the country's exit from tyranny, we support the formation of a legitimate transitional government led by Prince Reza Pahlavi."

This official support from the Zoroastrian minority comes as protests in Iran have reached an unprecedented level. According to various reports, nationwide demonstrations have taken place in dozens of Iranian cities in response to the economic crisis, structural corruption and widespread repression, with slogans such as “Pahlavi is returning”, “Death to the dictator” and “This is not the last battle” being chanted.

The issuance of such a statement by the Zoroastrian community, which has had a long history of discrimination and political pressure, reflects the depth of public dissatisfaction with the Islamic Republic's government and the search for a common leadership to overcome the crisis.

Independent experts believe that the election of Reza Pahlavi as the transitional leader is not only a symbol of a return to the past but also a symbol of unity against oppression and tyranny in Iran; although the actual level of public support within the country remains a matter of debate.

Zoroastrian support also makes sense in the context of international reactions and the Iranian diaspora. In many rallies in Europe and the United States, Iranians have chanted slogans in support of Reza Pahlavi and raised pre-1979 revolution flags as a sign of unity and resistance; but the Islamic Republic has responded to these waves of protest with violence and bloodshed. It is said that more than a thousand people have been killed in the crackdown and tens of thousands have been arrested, a figure that some independent sources estimate to be much higher.

This Zoroastrian statement is not only a cultural and religious response, but can also be seen as a symbol of unity beyond religious and ethnic boundaries; a response to a government that has shown over decades that it sacrifices the lives and dignity of citizens to maintain its power.
