Judicial pressure on some Labor Day detainees continues; heavy bails issued

The Tehran Bus Company Workers' Union announced that the arrest warrants of a number of those arrested on Labor Day have been converted to bail and have been extended for some.

The union wrote on its Telegram channel that after about a month of arresting Hassan Saeedi, a member of the Vahed Company workers' union, the arrest warrant for this imprisoned worker was changed to a bail of 330 million Tomans.

The text published by the Vahed Company Workers' Union states that the arrest warrants for Nahid Khodajoo and Farhad Sheikhi, other detainees from the International Labor Day rally, were converted to bail, but it is said that a 12-day arrest warrant was issued for Atefeh Rangriz, Vanda Naji, and Marzieh Amiri after the end of the 30-day detention period.

A number of participants were arrested during the International Workers' Day protest in Tehran, and after about a month, eight journalists, civil society and labor activists remain in detention.

Earlier, Human Rights Watch issued a statement calling on the Islamic Republic's authorities to immediately and unconditionally release "at least eight activists and journalists" arrested during the International Workers' Day protests.

In recent weeks, families and relatives of these detainees have also held rallies in front of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

Following these arrests, the US State Department's Persian Twitter account criticized the arrest of Iranian labor activists on International Labor Day in a message.
