Murder of "Farishte", a victim of child marriage, and "Sateish" for honor reasons

"Farishte," a young woman who is a victim of child marriage, and Setayesh, a teenager, were murdered in honor killings.

Fereshteh, 19, and the mother of a young son, along with her cousin Fereshteh, were murdered by their family members in Bomehan, Tehran, and Kohdasht, Lorestan, in an honor killing.

According to the "Independent Persian", Fereshteh Mansouri, 19, and Setayesh, 16, who are Fereshteh's cousins and sister-in-law, from the village of "Abovalofa" in Kohdasht County, Lorestan Province, were murdered out of honor and to protect their reputation.

According to informed sources in Lorestan, the accusations against these two young men were false and their murder was only due to a recreational trip and attending a concert by an Iranian singer in the Turkish city of Van.

Fereshte and Setayesh were cousins, and Fereshte was also the wife of Setayesh's brother, who forced her to marry his cousin at the age of 12, and she became a victim of child marriage. After growing up, Fereshte was unhappy with her marriage and did not have a good life due to poverty. In addition, Fereshte's husband, in addition to his addiction, was also involved in selling drugs, for which he has been in prison for some time. Fereshte, in the absence of her husband, lived in the suburbs of Tehran with the family of her husband, who is also her uncle.

Fereshte and Setayesh decide to travel to Turkey on a recreational tour, so they sell Fereshte's gold and cover the cost of the trip. After the road trip from Tehran to the Khoy border, rumors spread about the two young men going on a foreign trip with several boys. Under pressure from their families, Fereshte and Setayesh get off the bus before reaching the Turkish border and return to Bomahan.

These rumors caused Fereshteh's family to move from their village. But as the rumors continued, two brothers (Fereshteh's father and Setayesh) decided to move Fereshteh and Setayesh from Bumhan to the town of Naderi in Kohdasht. On the evening of Wednesday, May 13, 1402, Fereshteh was shot dead in front of her 5-year-old son. Setayesh's father and brothers also told Setayesh to either commit suicide or they would kill her too. Setayesh also committed suicide by taking rice pills and ended her life. There are other reports that Setayesh's family killed her by injecting her with poison; but there is still no information on the veracity of this news.

Setayesh's father, along with his brothers, as well as Fereshteh's father and his brothers, have been transferred to Lorestan Prison for murder and complicity in this crime, and the police and judiciary have begun an investigation to follow up on the case.

It should be noted that an investigation conducted by the travel company that Fereshte and Setayesh had purchased tickets for this tour showed that no other person or persons were with them and that Fereshte's betrayal of her husband was nothing more than a lie and a rumor.
