New ban on travelers' gold exports; entry and exit of even a single gold coin is prohibited

Following the escalation of the crisis over the increase in the exchange rate and gold coins in Iran, the entry and exit of even a single gold coin from Iran's borders was prohibited.
According to the announcement on Monday, September 9, by the passenger director of Imam Khomeini Airport Customs, women's jewelry weighing more than 150 grams is subject to this entry and exit restriction.
He added that if the jewelry of departing passengers weighs more than this amount, the matter will be reported to customs by exit gate control agents.
According to Mr. Goodarzi, the entry or exit of even a single coin is currently prohibited, and cases of individuals being prevented from entering or leaving the country have also been reported.
The coin price increase crisis, which began months ago, continues to escalate in parallel with the increase in foreign exchange rates; the price of each gold coin has increased more than three and a half times since April of this year.
