A study of the clergy's attendance statistics in the first to ninth parliaments shows that in each term of parliament, the attendance of clergy has decreased significantly compared to the previous term. This statistic indicates the extreme distance between the people and the failure of the people to elect clergy for parliamentary elections. In the Islamic Republic, clergy are no longer popular.
