According to HRANA news agency, quoted by Mehr, Mohsen Zarei, head of the Center for Monitoring and Evaluation of Education, said on the sidelines of a one-day trip to Semnan province: "In the academic year 1400-01, unfortunately, through monitoring, we noticed that 210,000 students were left behind in the first grade alone across the country."

The head of the Education Monitoring and Evaluation Center stated that, despite this, another 170,000 of our students are still out of school, adding: "There are various reasons for this out of school, but unfortunately, it must be said that the coronavirus situation has exacerbated it and made the work of the Ministry of Education difficult."
