Pope Francis arrives in the world's largest Islamic country

Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics, arrived in Indonesia, the world's largest Islamic country, on the first day of his visit.

Pope Francis, 87, the world's Catholic leader, who is making his longest trip to East Asia, arrived in Indonesia on the first day of his official visit and met with the country's migrants, including Rohingya Muslims. He was welcomed by thousands of Indonesians at Jakarta airport.

Pope Francis is also scheduled to visit Singapore, Papua New Guinea and East Timor over the next 10 days. The Vatican said, referring to the Pope's longest trip to East Asia, that "the reason for choosing Indonesia as the largest Muslim country is that the Pope wishes to promote dialogue and understanding among the Abrahamic religions."

The Pope, who is not only the leader of the world's Catholics but also the head of the Vatican State, sent greetings and blessings to countries including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and India that are en route to Indonesia. He sent his prayers for hope, prosperity, peace, and divine blessings to these countries in several messages.
