Isfahan's 8th Fighter Base, Target of Israeli Attack

The eighth hunting base in Isfahan was targeted by an Israeli attack.

This morning, Friday, April 11, reports were received of a massive explosion being heard in Isfahan, and following that, American media outlets, citing informed officials, reported an Israeli missile attack on a target or targets in Iran, including an air base near Isfahan.

Iranian officials did not officially confirm the claims of American officials about Israel launching missiles at Iran, claiming that Isfahan air defenses had targeted several small aircraft and suspicious objects.

Isfahan Air Base is one of the 17 active air bases of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, which is called the "heart of the country's air defense" due to its location in one of the most central parts of Iran. The base hosts three fighter battalions and two training battalions, including the 81st F-14 Fighter Battalion, the Sukhoi Su-35 Fighter Battalion, and the F-7 Fighter Battalion, all of which are part of the Army Air Force's battalions. Therefore, it is not out of the question for Israel to target this base in retaliation.

"Farzin Nadimi, a defense and security analyst at the Washington Institute, said in this regard: "Isfahan is a sensitive area in every respect. In addition to the nuclear centers, the Army's 8th Air Base and the IRGC's Badr Air Base are located in Isfahan. In addition, several defense industry sites are also located in Isfahan, and the IRGC's missile sites are located in the south and southeast of Isfahan. The action this morning, Friday, April 11, was specifically carried out in Isfahan, and it was carried out with a quality that allows Iran to somehow take the responsibility of responding off its shoulders."
