Corona in Iran – Official daily death toll from Corona hits record high: 346 deaths; 25% of nurses infected

The critical situation of the coronavirus outbreak in Iran continues, while according to official statistics, the daily death toll from COVID-19 reached 346 on Tuesday, November 25, setting a new record.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic, 6,968 new COVID-19 patients have been identified in the country in the past 24 hours, and 346 patients have died. The total number of coronavirus cases in Iran has now reached 581,824, and the total number of deaths from the disease has reached 33,299.
The accuracy of the statistics announced by the Islamic Republic, like those of China and Russia, is highly questionable, and based on the available evidence and contradictions observed in the statistics provided by various institutions, it can be said that accurate information is not being provided about the actual number of infected and dead. The World Health Organization and even the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly have announced that the actual number of infections and deaths is several times the official statistics in Iran. Not long ago, 8 months after the start of the coronavirus, the Deputy Minister of Health of Iran admitted that the actual number of deaths due to coronavirus is between one and a half and 2.2 times the official number. While Masoud Mardani, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus in Iran, believes that the actual number is 2.5 times.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the United States has warned about the cover-up and incompetence of the Islamic Republic of Iran's authorities.
On Friday, March 29, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a meeting of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee that, given the Islamic Republic's record of secrecy, the Iranian regime is reluctant to provide information about the spread of the coronavirus, and I am concerned that they may have hidden important information.
The coronavirus crisis in Iran continues as government officials continue to impose severe media censorship. Jahan Sanat newspaper was among the media outlets that was shut down in mid-August after publishing an interview with a member of the National Coronavirus Task Force about the inaccuracy of Iran's official statistics.
But in the latest official statement, Iran's Deputy Minister of Health announced that "as of a month ago, about 35 million people had been infected with the coronavirus, and we should know that about 50 million Iranians have not yet contracted the disease and are at risk."

About 25% of nurses in Iran infected with coronavirus
According to official reports, about 25% of Iranian nurses have been infected with the coronavirus so far, and 3,165 nurses have taken sick leave and gone into two-week quarantine.
This is while 694 hospitals in Iran are involved in the coronavirus crisis. So far, 26,969 regular beds and 5,900 special beds have been occupied by patients infected with coronavirus.
On the other hand, the situation in the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamedan, Yazd and Kurdistan is still declared red.
A hospital official in Tehran also stated that the situation in Tehran is "beyond red" and that in one hospital, "we even had up to 1,000 new hospitalizations in one night," adding that "300 deaths per day have become normal and are no longer strange, even though they should not become normal."
