A teenage girl attempted suicide in Khorramshahr.

On Wednesday, November 1, a 14-year-old teenage girl in Khorramshahr attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, but police officers prevented her from doing so. The Iranian Forensic Medicine Organization has stated that the share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides is more than 7 percent.
According to HRANA News Agency, citing Rokna, on Wednesday, November 1, 2021, the chief of police in Khorramshahr announced that officers from Police Station 11 in the city had prevented the suicide of a 14-year-old girl.
According to this report, following a phone call to the police station stating that a 14-year-old girl was planning to commit suicide from the new bridge in Khorramshahr, officers from the Khorramshahr police station were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The police station officers came within a foot of the 14-year-old girl and, in a swift move, grabbed the teenage girl and prevented her from doing anything. After speaking, the teenage girl was transferred to the police station's counseling department.
In the counseling department, it was determined that the girl had attempted suicide due to family problems, and after counseling, she was handed over to welfare.
Not long ago, a 16-year-old girl, a victim of child marriage in Khorramshahr, committed suicide by hanging herself and lost her life.
The Forensic Medicine Organization has stated that the share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides is more than 7%.
