Evin Prison; Nazanin Mohammadnejad's detention continues in the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center

Nazanin Mohammadnejad, a Russian language undergraduate student at Allameh Tabatabaei University and a former student activist at Tehran University, is still being held indefinitely in the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as Ward 2A of Evin Prison, seven days after her arrest. Ms. Mohammadnejad was arrested by security forces at her home in Tehran on Tuesday night, December 9, and transferred to an unknown location.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, today, Monday, December 14, 2020, Nazanin Mohammadnejad, a bachelor's student in the Russian language department at Allameh Tabatabaei University, is still being held indefinitely in the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center, known as Ward 2A of Evin Prison, 7 days after her arrest.
Ms. Mohammadnejad has been denied the right to make phone calls and meet with her family since her arrest; the student activist's family has met with the investigator in her case at Evin Prosecutor's Office in recent days and was told that a one-month detention order has been issued for their daughter.
Ms. Mohammadnejad was arrested by security forces at her home in Tehran on Tuesday night, December 9, and transferred to Evin Prison. During Ms. Mohammadnejad's arrest, a number of her personal belongings, including her cell phone, laptop, and books, were confiscated by security forces.
As of the time of writing, there is no information available about the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him.
Nazanin Mohammadnejad is a bachelor's student in Russian language at Allameh Tabatabaei University and a former student activist at the University of Tehran.
