Richard Dearlove: Islamic Republic agents pose a threat to British Jews

Richard Dearlove considered the agents of the Islamic Republic a threat to British Jews and opponents of the Islamic Republic.

Richard Dearlove, former head of MI6 (British foreign intelligence service), while warning about the threat posed by the Islamic Republic to Jews and opponents of the Islamic Republic, criticized the fact that Britain continues to refuse to put the Revolutionary Guard Corps on the list of terrorist organizations. In the past, former heads of the British foreign intelligence service, such as Richard, had repeatedly warned about the threat posed by the Islamic Republic or its proxies in Britain.

Quoting the British publication "Jewish Chronicle", Richard Dearlove said about the Islamic Republic's support for Islamists and radical Shiite clerics in Britain: "It is possible that some of these Shiite groups are harboring extremists and terrorists, and the security services are well aware of this problem."

He spoke very clearly about the threat posed by the IRGC to the Jewish community in Britain, and suggested that the IRGC may be reporting to the Iranian government about the activities of opponents of the Islamic Republic in Britain. He added: “The influence of the Islamic Republic’s agents is significant and the IRGC is very good at this type of work. There is a threat, there is a problem, whether it is through inciting extremists to attack the Jewish community or organizing demonstrations that intimidate the Jewish community and encourage extremists.”

He also continued his warnings by adding: "The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has a lot of influence, especially in areas where there are Shiite Muslim communities. These are communities that have some sympathy for the Islamic Republic and, to some extent, show a supportive attitude towards the Islamic Republic. There are one or two mosques, including in London, that have been identified as places with this characteristic."

In another part of his interview, Dearlove said: "The Islamic Republic is the main destabilizing force in the Middle East and it is astonishing that successive governments in the UK have not declared the IRGC a terrorist organization. I really don't understand why we haven't. The IRGC is the organization through which Iran has waged what is known as 'remote' wars. The Quds Force is part of the IRGC and they have made using this organization a fundamental part of Iran's policy to destabilize and interfere in the affairs of other countries."

"I understand the Foreign Office's reasons for not banning the IRGC, but it should have been designated a terrorist organization long ago. If we somehow end theocratic rule in Iran, the Middle East will be a different place, and it will be less of a geopolitical problem and a major threat to Israel."

John Sawers, another former head of the British secret service, referred to the attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah groups in an interview with Sky News, saying: "Both of these groups are supported by the Islamic Republic and may cause terrorist attacks in Britain."

In addition to Richard and John, other heads of this secret organization also advised British intelligence agencies to be on alert after the deaths of the leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas.

Dan Jarvis, the British Home Secretary for Security, also announced last month: "Anyone living in the UK and working for the Iranian government who fails to identify themselves and register their details will face a prison sentence."
