Corona; Emergency centers in Tehran are ready to deal with the spread of the Omicron strain

Iran's Ministry of Health announced 44 more deaths from the coronavirus and 2,103 new cases. At the same time, emergency rooms and outpatient treatment centers in Tehran have been put on alert for patients infected with the Omicron strain of the coronavirus.
Including the new official coronavirus statistics as of noon on Wednesday, January 1, 1402, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Iran reached six million, 177,885, and the number of deaths reached 131,211.
Also, out of 2,103 patients in the past 24 hours, 344 were hospitalized. 2,821 patients with COVID-19 are currently battling the disease in intensive care units.
In the past 24 hours, 22 provinces of the country have had zero and one deaths, and the highest number of deaths from coronavirus patients was in Tehran with 14 people, East Azerbaijan with 6 people, and Yazd with 4 people.
According to official sources in Iran, currently no cities are in red or orange status, but 53 cities are in yellow status and 395 cities are in blue status.
Daily estimates of the COVID-19 situation in different parts of Iran, as well as official statistics announced by the Ministry of Health, are being made available to the media, while since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, official statistics in this regard have always been questioned by independent sources and even some government sources.
At the same time, Nader Tavakoli, deputy head of the Tehran Province Coronavirus Response Headquarters, announced the readiness of medical centers and the expansion of hospital outpatient departments to deal with an increase in infections with the Omicron strain of the coronavirus.
Kamal Heidari, Deputy Health Minister of the Ministry of Health, also announced the identification of eight patients infected with Omicron in the country over the past two days, seven of whom were in Tehran and one in Mashhad.
