Killing of People on Occasion of Mahsa Amini’s Fortieth Day Commemoration

Our correspondent from Iran reports: On the fortieth day following the killing of Mahsa Amini, when people took to the streets in protest, we are once again witnessing the killing of our dear people.

Following these protests, 35-year-old Ismail Moludi in the city of Mahabad was killed by government authorities of the Islamic Republic using firearms. These protests continued in Mahabad until morning, and at 7:30 AM, people accompanied Ismail Moludi’s body to the cemetery for burial. After Moludi’s funeral, people continued their protests.

However, government authorities of the Islamic Republic continued their killing spree and attacked people with firearms in the Customs neighborhood of Mahabad, where Ismail Moludi’s residence was located.

Early in the morning, people of Mahabad attacked the National Bank’s central branch, forcing all employees to leave the bank. They then went to the city center and set fire to the Workers’ Welfare Bank. The courageous people of Mahabad also seized the Finance Department, the Kourosh state store, the municipality, and Police Station 11 Mellat, evacuating weapons from the police station. They then headed toward the Mahabad governorate and seized it as well. The entire city of Mahabad came under the control of the people. The people of Mahabad set fire to Revolutionary Square and the Islamic Republic’s government centers. The area where mercenaries lived was also evacuated and all their homes were set on fire by the people.

This killing and these protests did not end in the city of Mahabad. Also in Qasr-e Shirin, a city in Kermanshah Province that had just joined the people’s resistance in Kurdistan for the first time, a 28-year-old youth named Afshin Asham from Sarkhak Sanjabi village, resident of Pali-Abad neighborhood, was killed by direct gunfire from government forces. Revolutionary Guards forces of Prophet Muhammad in Kermanshah seized Afshin Asham’s body and have not yet returned it to his family.
