Government Officials Stepping Down from Their Posts

Since the beginning of the protests and the suppression of people by government forces, we have witnessed government officials stepping down from their positions one after another.

Many forces in various government bodies, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Army, and the Basij, have refused to continue cooperating with these forces, ceased the suppression of people, and stood alongside them.

A newly released video from another Basij member who previously came to the streets to suppress people shows their frustration with these crackdowns, as they are one by one stepping down from their positions and announcing that they want to stand with the people.

The Basij member says in this video: “I was a Basij member, but I am no longer. We are tired of all these crimes. I wanted to leave this country, but I will not do so until the people’s victory over this deceptive government.” At the end, he burns his documents and even his passport and announces that he will remain alongside the people.

The full video of this Basij member can be viewed below.

The Islamic Republic regime, with all the crimes it commits, is only delaying its own downfall.

Given the collapse of suppressive forces, will other officials of the Islamic Republic regime continue to carry out orders from the regime, or will they, like their colleagues, join the Iranian people?
