Guardian: Iranians ignore warnings to stay home during Nowruz

According to Iranian police, Iranian citizens have largely ignored the government's request to stay home as the New Year holidays begin, and more than 1.2 million cars have taken to the roads to travel.

The Guardian newspaper wrote in a report on Friday, April 1, with the following introduction: According to the latest reports, the cities and villages of northern Iran on the Caspian Sea coast are witnessing tens of thousands of vehicles trying to reach these areas.

The latest figures released on Friday show that 19,644 people in Iran have been infected with the new coronavirus, known as "Covid-19," and 1,433 have died. In the past 24 hours alone, 1,237 new cases and 149 deaths have been reported.
