Gas poisoning in Nowruz travelers' tent; 495 people poisoned, 17 died

Iran's Emergency Organization announced that in a five-day period, from March 15 to April 1 of this year, 495 people were poisoned by gas, of which 17 died.

According to reports, the gassings occurred due to the lighting of unsafe heating devices in camping tents.

On Wednesday, April 23, Mojtaba Khalidi, a spokesman for the Emergency Department, warned Nowruz travelers to be careful of carbon monoxide emissions in their travel tents.

ISNA also reported, quoting Timur Hosseini, deputy head of the traffic police, that from March 16 to the morning of April 24, 247 people died in 187 traffic accidents on Iranian roads.

According to him, along with Nowruz, road traffic in Iran has increased by 38 percent compared to the same time last year.
