Dr. George Karapetian Recognized as Distinguished Researcher at Research and Technology Festival

Dr. George Karapetian, an Armenian-born professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology, was recognized as a distinguished researcher at the first Research and Technology Festival of Tehran Province.

At the latest scientific event in Tehran Province, Dr. George Karapetian, a prominent professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology, was selected as the distinguished researcher of the Tehran Province Research and Technology Festival due to his remarkable achievements in the field of research and technology.

This selection took place for the first time at this festival during an official ceremony attended by scientific authorities and provincial officials, drawing attention to the scientific achievements of this university professor. Dr. Karapetian, a member of the faculty at Amirkabir University of Technology, has published over 1,500 scientific articles in various fields of electrical engineering, of which nearly 900 papers have been presented at international conferences and over 600 scientific research and ISI articles have been published in reputable domestic and foreign journals.

In addition, he holds 27 registered patents in his scientific record, demonstrating his continuous effort in developing new technologies in electrical engineering and their application in industry and society. Dr. Karapetian, alongside his research activities, has authored and translated 30 books in specialized areas of electrical engineering and technology, and has collaborated in over 40 research projects as a director, collaborator, or consultant with various scientific and executive institutions including the Ministry of Power, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the Supreme Council of Science, Research and Technology.

Karapetian is among the prominent scientific figures who has played an important role in strengthening the connection between university and industry and, through active presence in domestic and international scientific forums, has made a significant contribution to advancing the scientific level of the country. Furthermore, his international experience and participation in global conferences introduce him as one of the successful representatives of Iran’s research community on the global stage.

Iran’s history shows that Iranian Armenians have always been an important part of the country’s scientific and cultural community and have played a role in developing fields of engineering, medicine, arts, and humanities.
