“National Cooperation” Campaign: A Call for Iran’s Military and Government Forces to Join Government Opposition

Tehran, Iran – One week after the launch of the “#National_Cooperation” platform, introduced as a secure communication channel for Iran’s military, security, law enforcement, and government personnel, nearly 20,000 people have joined this campaign. This initiative, announced by Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last shah, on June 29, 2025 (Tir 8, 1404) at a press conference in Paris, aims to create a pathway for the collapse of the government apparatus and the defection of its members to the opposition ranks.

According to published information, the data of individuals who have joined this campaign is currently under review, verification, and screening, and the process of contacting them has begun. The organizers of this campaign, while thanking those who have joined, have asked other military and government forces who have not yet taken this step to join the movement as soon as possible and help expand this campaign by speaking about it.

Methods of Joining and Security Warnings

One of the key points emphasized in announcements related to this campaign is the method of joining it. Applicants have been asked to join exclusively by scanning the QR code that is displayed during broadcasts of the “Iran International” television network programs. After scanning this code, the corresponding form must be completed while observing the security notes listed at the top of it.

These announcements strongly emphasize that users should refrain from publishing, scanning, and filling out any other codes and forms that are shared online or through social media networks. These security warnings indicate concerns about potential counteraction by the Iranian government to identify and deal with individuals who have joined this campaign.

Objectives and Reactions

The primary objective of this campaign, as announced by Reza Pahlavi, is “to provide a safe path for those armed forces, security personnel, and government employees who are disillusioned with the government and wish to join the nation.” In his message, he assured that the service of these individuals to Iran will not be forgotten.

So far, official authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not shown a direct response to this campaign. However, media outlets close to the government have consistently accused Persian-language television networks outside the country of “hostile actions” and “hybrid warfare” against Iran, and it is expected that this silence will be accompanied by security and propaganda responses.

Iran experts believe that the success or failure of this campaign will depend on multiple factors, including the level of trust in the security of this platform, the breadth of reception within the military and security forces, and the government’s ability to identify and counter it. In circumstances where Iran faces numerous economic and social challenges, any division within the ranks of forces supporting the government could have significant impacts on the country’s political future.
