House of Horror in Shaft and Its Suspicious Cleaning
The suspicious cleaning of the house of 9-year-old Ilia’s killer has transformed it into a house of horror in Shaft.
One week after the shocking murder of “Ilia Zadehosein,” a 9-year-old child from Gilan, the public has still not received clear answers from responsible authorities. While families are in shock and grief, local sources are reporting suspicious activities at the suspect’s house by posting videos on Instagram social networks; a house that is now known as the “House of Horror” in “Agha Seyed Sharif” in Shaft.
According to witnesses, just days after Ilia’s murder became public, unknown individuals entered the suspect’s house and thoroughly cleaned it. An incident that, accompanied by the discharge of orange-colored sewage from the building, has intensified suspicions of intentional crime scene cleanup. Residents of this area say this house has been the site of suspicious activities for years, including sounds of digging in the ground and walls from inside and mysterious movements of the suspect that had been repeatedly witnessed and heard by neighbors.
The greater concern of neighbors has been the repeated presence of children around this house in previous years, an issue that now brings the hypothesis of serial and long-term child abuse into sharp focus. The question now occupying the minds of Gilan’s people is: how has a person with a suspected history of child abuse moved freely in this area for years while no institution has pursued him? Who are responsible for the suspicious cleaning of the house and the possible destruction of evidence? Why have old cases of missing and abused children still not been matched with this location?
With the publication of videos released by the killer’s neighbors on social networks, the demand of Gilan’s people has now turned into an urgent and collective plea. The people of Gilan have asked the relevant authorities to prioritize necessary measures including immediate sealing and protection of the location, scientific sampling and publication of transparent results, review of all missing persons and child abuse cases in the area, identification and prosecution of possible accomplices or instigators of the crime scene cleanup, and transparent judicial oversight with regular public information, and to begin legal proceedings; because the silence of officials on this matter and failure to disclose the identity of this child killer has angered Iranian society.
Residents of this area speak of a fear and terror that the next victim could be their children, who are not allowed to move freely in the streets of this neighborhood due to concerns of becoming victims.
This case is a test for law enforcement and judicial authorities, a test whose outcome will either restore public trust or deepen the rift between society and the state. But beyond this case lies a bitter reality before us; while many innocent people are imprisoned for political and ideological reasons, dangerous individuals like this killer have walked freely in the streets for years, threatening children’s safety.
