Benjamin Netanyahu: Just as Cyrus Freed the Jews, We Will Free the Iranian People

Benjamin Netanyahu, through a message about the liberation of Iranians by Israel, said it would be similar to how Cyrus freed the Jews.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, in a message published in Israeli media, stated: “During the war with Iran, when I directly addressed the Iranian people, I referred to the remarkable charter of Cyrus the Great from 2,500 years ago. Cyrus the Great freed us Jews and paved the way for our return to Zion. We too will one day be the cause of liberation for the Iranian people from the tyranny that has oppressed them for nearly half a century.”

Netanyahu, referring to Israel’s 12-day military operations against nuclear, military, and nuclear scientist centers in Iran, stated: “It is possible that our recent operations have already created cracks in this tyranny and started a process that the Iranian people themselves, by their own hands, will continue and bring to completion.”

Netanyahu’s message was published yesterday in Israeli media, and Ali Khamenei, in response to Netanyahu’s message, said: “The people during the period of war with Israel, contrary to the enemy’s expectations, rose up to support and sustain the system both spiritually and financially.”

The Prime Minister of Israel has repeatedly spoken in his speeches about Cyrus the Great, the Persian king, and the relationship between Jews and Iranians. He also spoke in April 2022 about Persian culture and the historical connection of Jews with ancient Iran: “We had a man whom we will never forget! Cyrus the Great, whose name appears in our holy book. When we speak of Cyrus, we speak of the great leader of a great civilization and we honor his memory for helping to build the Jewish temple in Jerusalem and for the return of the Jewish exiles from Babylon.”
