“Kazem Sedighi”: Khamenei Had Put Commanders to Sleep in Salt Water

Kazem Sedighi said in Friday prayer sermons yesterday: “Khamenei had put new commanders to sleep in salt water.”

Kazem Sedighi, the Friday prayer imam of Tehran, on yesterday Friday, the 27th of Tir month, during his sermon after Friday prayers, while calling on people to piety, spoke about the war between Israel and the Islamic Republic and Ali Khamenei’s measures.

In his speech, he said: “Khamenei had, in the words of the common people, put the new commanders to sleep in salt water and had settled accounts with them. Do not quarrel with each other and do not listen to any voice other than the voice of the authorities, because it is the voice of the enemy sowing discord.”

He also addressed those present at Tehran’s Friday prayer: “If you fly with two wings of patience and piety, you are always at your peak and nothing from the enemies is imposed upon you.”

Sedighi spoke at Tehran’s Friday prayer and led it while his son and daughter-in-law were arrested in recent weeks in connection with a financial and economic corruption case. Their case became public with the arrest of six people, of whom Sedighi’s son and daughter-in-law are also members, a case that drew attention to Kazem Sedighi’s role in the matter.

Sedighi’s speech at Tehran’s Friday prayer, especially after the arrest of his son and daughter-in-law and speculations about Kazem Sedighi’s own involvement in this financial and economic corruption case, drew considerable criticism. “Rouhollah Momin-Nasab,” secretary of the Tehran province headquarters for commanding good, also wrote about this: “Enemies want Sedighi’s scholarly behavior not to become a model for system officials.”

“Reza Taqavi,” a member of the central council of the Society of Combatant Clergy, also referring to the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, said: “One of the greatest blows we have suffered has been from treacherous and satanic creatures. The faces of hypocrites who have infiltrated institutions or are active outside them should be identified to the people.”

“Artin” also, in reaction to Sedighi’s words in “Gouyaa Newsletter,” wrote: “Sedighi’s return to Friday prayer carried a clear message; if Khamenei retreats anywhere, it is only for tactics, not that he is actually backing down. It then also proved that in the dictator’s dictionary, neither popularity nor effectiveness matters, only and solely loyalty is the condition. People do not accept Sedighi and even some of these Hezbollah-party members do not, but as long as he remains loyal to the establishment, not only is removal not on the agenda, but whenever necessary, he is brought to the scene. Through this, Khamenei is sending a message to everyone that the game is in his hands and the settling of accounts is only with him, not with the people nor even with his mercenaries. This itself is a slap in the face to those who still harbor illusions of reform or change from within.”
