Islamic Republic Prepares Food for Lebanon While Ignoring Needs of Iranian People

The Islamic Republic has prepared food for the people of Lebanon without regard to the needs of the Iranian people.

Videos have been circulated on social media showing the shipment of food supplies to Lebanon by the Islamic Republic, while the tables of the Iranian people are severely empty, particularly as the Persian New Year approaches. The Islamic Republic government has prepared food for the people of Lebanon without paying attention to the needs of the Iranian people.

The Rahpaaye Vasal Shiraz Foundation, which had prepared this video on Sunday, the 5th of Esfand, from the collection and packaging of food supplies for hundreds of thousands of participants, released it. The preparation of these food packages coincided with the funeral procession of Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, in Beirut.

In addition to the aforementioned video, other videos have been released showing the amount of food prepared daily for the people of Lebanon. The video explains that at each meal, 3,000 portions of high-quality food are cooked in one of Hezbollah’s kitchens in Lebanon and distributed to the people. In addition to lunch and dinner meals, breakfast is also prepared for them. Each meal consists of 3,000 portions, and all meals except breakfast are prepared with meat and poultry.

This is while in recent days, the prices of meat and poultry, as well as fruits and vegetables in Iran have increased dramatically, to the point that people’s ability to purchase has decreased compared to before.

The circulation of these videos on social media has sparked widespread reactions among the people. In response to this action by the Islamic Republic, people sent messages saying: “What kind of people are you that in the severely difficult living conditions in Iran, you go to Lebanon and prepare food for the people of Lebanon instead of the people of Iran, and with excellent quality? You truly are devils. Others wrote that you should be ashamed before the Iranian people; you spend our wealth instead of spending it for ourselves, you spend it for other countries.”

Aid to the people of Lebanon comes at a time when, according to statistics from government media, approximately one million students were forced to drop out of school in the current year due to poverty, and many fathers have resorted to suicide due to their inability to provide for their families’ basic necessities out of shame. Even suicide statistics among children have increased dramatically, due to harsh living conditions and lack of access to basic necessities for living.
