Widespread Cancellations of Flights to Ben Gurion and Suspension of Singapore and Taiwan Aircraft Transit Through Iranian Airspace

The New York Times reported the cancellation of flights to Ben Gurion and the suspension of Singapore and Taiwan aircraft transit through Iranian airspace.
According to reports published by the New York Times, airlines including Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Air India, and two American carriers Delta and United have canceled all their flights to Tel Aviv. Italy’s ITA Airways has also canceled all flights to Tel Aviv until August 6.
Reuters also reported, citing data from Flightradar24, that two Taiwanese airlines have suspended the use of Iranian airspace. China Airlines, Taiwan’s largest airline, and AvaAir have not used Iranian airspace for Amsterdam flights, contrary to previous practice.
The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday and the lack of security in Iran, along with the possibility of retaliatory war by Iran, have created an unsafe situation whereby some airlines have prohibited the use of Iranian airspace until further notice and have canceled flights.
