UK and French Leaders Ask Israel Not to Respond to Iran’s Attack

The leaders of Britain and France have asked Israel not to respond to Iran’s attack early Sunday morning.
According to Al Jazeera news agency, French President Emmanuel Macron described Iran’s attack on Israel as disproportionate compared to Israel’s attack on Iran’s consulate in Syria.
Emmanuel Macron said on Monday, April 15 (April 27 by Persian calendar): “We are doing everything we can to prevent escalation of tensions and convince Israel that it should not respond to Iran’s attack with further escalation. France will stand with Israel to guarantee its protection, and I will speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later today.”
David Cameron, Britain’s Foreign Secretary, also urged that Iran’s attack should not be retaliated against and that focus should remain on a ceasefire in Gaza. He also said: “We insist that tensions should not be escalated. We hope there will be no retaliatory response. Iran’s attack has failed and there is no need for Tel Aviv to respond.”
