Israel Demands Evacuation of Civilians from Gaza Strip

The Israeli army has requested that civilians in the northern Gaza Strip leave the area and move to the southern Gaza Strip.
About a week has passed since Hamas attacks on Israel, and following these attacks, many people have been killed and wounded. Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, and for this purpose, the Israeli army this Friday morning, October 13, requested that around 1.1 million people in the northern Gaza Strip evacuate their homes in the area and move to southern Gaza within 24 hours to ensure their safety. The Israeli army announced that this evacuation is for the safety of the people themselves.
After announcing the evacuation order for northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army added: “Return to the northern Gaza Strip is only possible after notification by the army, and during extensive operations being conducted in Gaza City, considerable efforts will be made to avoid harming civilians.”
The United Nations expressed concern and reacted to this military announcement. “Stefan Dujarric,” spokesperson for UN Secretary-General “Antonio Guterres,” said on this matter: “The United Nations urgently requests that such an order be withdrawn, as such a step would transform the current tragedy into a catastrophic situation.”
According to Stefan Dujarric’s statement, an evacuation of this scale, and within 24 hours, would have devastating humanitarian consequences.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, while transferring international staff to the southern Gaza Strip for Palestinian refugees, requested that Israeli authorities protect all civilians in the shelters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, including schools.
