Commemoration of Birth Anniversary and First Memorial of Eternal Mehrsad Shahidi-Nejad

Today, Thursday, corresponding to November 1st (11 Aban), a ceremony was held commemorating the birth anniversary and first memorial of eternal Mehrsad Shahidi-Nejad.
One year has passed since the killing of Mehrsad Shahidi, which occurred following the nationwide protests of 1401 (2022) by regime agents. Mehrsad is one of the eternal ones whose family was not permitted to hold commemorative ceremonies.
Today, Thursday, corresponding to 11 Aban, Mehrsad Shahidi’s father shared images from his son’s birth anniversary and first memorial ceremony on his Instagram page, writing: “The first memorial and second birthday of my dear Mehrsad were unfortunately held on one day due to certain limitations. Through this, I express gratitude and warm appreciation to our esteemed fellow citizens, particularly the good people of Arak city and Mehrsad’s close friends who, over the past year despite various restrictions that everyone is aware of, through flower offerings and their effective and prominent presence at the grave of our dear Mehrsad, provided solace to the Shahidi family alongside their condolences, demonstrating sympathy and solidarity.”
Many families of those killed in the nationwide protests participated in Mehrsad Shahidi’s ceremony to demonstrate that no force can break the unity and solidarity of the Iranian people, and that the Iranian people remain united under all circumstances—a unity that is the secret of light’s victory over darkness.
