Continued Protest Gatherings of Telecommunications Retirees in Various Cities

Protest gatherings of telecommunications retirees in various cities continue to persist.

After several months since the start of protests by retirees from various organizations in Iranian cities due to outstanding claims, these gatherings continue unabated. Retirees from the Social Security Organization, Telecommunications Company, National Oil Company and others, after months of protests and failure to address their outstanding claims and rights, continue to gather in front of the central buildings of these organizations and demand their rightful dues.

Today, Monday, the 6th of Azar, retirees from the Telecommunications Company in Sanandaj, Ahvaz, Tabriz and some other cities gathered in front of the Telecommunications Company building, chanting protest slogans and demanding attention to their claims.

Months have passed since the retirees began their protests, and not only have their demands for receiving their outstanding claims not been fulfilled, but their claims have not even been addressed. Many people, in response to the failure to address their rights and claims, stated: “Our claims are the rightful dues of the Iranian people that we have earned through years of hard work. Not only have they not been paid, but they are being sent to help the people of Palestine or spent on purchasing weapons for the war in Gaza against Israel.

The money that leaves Iran and is spent on wars and foreign peoples is the right of every Iranian citizen that has been denied to us, and we will not stop our protests until our rights are addressed.”
