‘Shaker Buri’ Released

Shaker Buri was released this morning after the completion of investigations.

Shaker Buri, a popular satirist who had gone missing after visiting the Ministry of Intelligence to retrieve his mobile phone, was released this morning on Thursday, August 19th. His disappearance and the lack of information about his whereabouts sparked widespread reaction on social media. Shaker Buri’s followers immediately called for his release through hashtags.

In recent days, the Intelligence Organization claimed to have no information in response to inquiries from his family, telling them to file a missing person report with law enforcement. However, now following Shaker Buri’s release and public protests, not only was the Intelligence Organization’s claim of ignorance false, but the Abadan prosecutor stated that Shaker Buri had been under investigation.

According to “Mizan,” Abadan Prosecutor Zandi stated regarding the reason for Shaker Buri’s detention: “This person was under investigation on charges of committing crimes against national security. He was detained with the issuance of an appropriate bail order to conduct investigations, and after the completion of investigations, he was released this morning with the issuance of a bail acceptance order.”
