Save the Name of ‘Law’ from These Prosecutors and Judges
Mahmoud Mehrabi, by releasing an audio file from prison, called on legal experts to save the name of “law” from the hands of prosecutors and judges.
Mahmoud Mehrabi, a political prisoner detained since February 2, 2023 on charges of “corruption on earth,” is being held indefinitely in Dastgerd Central Prison in Isfahan.
According to Dadban, Mohammad Mehrabi released an audio file from prison discussing his difficult situation, which received widespread media attention. Following the release of this audio file, he was transferred to solitary confinement in the mentioned prison and immediately after the transfer began a hunger strike.
He is banned from receiving visits and correspondence. Furthermore, Mahmoud Mehrabi protested the extension of his temporary detention order in the audio file and subsequently called on legal experts to save the name of law from the hands of these prosecutors and judges.
Prison officials claimed that his transfer to solitary confinement was carried out by order of the case prosecutor and for disciplinary purposes.
It should be noted that Mahmoud Mehrabi has been subjected to torture and physical and psychological abuse during his detention, which has resulted in him facing illness and physical problems. At present, a hunger strike is extremely dangerous for him and seriously endangers his life.
