Muslims, Christians and Jews Should Come to Aid of Palestinians

Al-Azhar, following the bombing of the Islamic University “Al-Azhar,” announced that Muslims, Christians and Jews should come to the aid of Palestinians.

Following the bombing of Islamic universities in Gaza, the Islamic University “Al-Azhar,” which serves as a seminary in Gaza, was demolished by the Israeli army. According to reports obtained, this university was a center for training terrorist individuals and was handed over to Hamas forces, with many Hamas leaders having studied at this university.

Following the destruction of Al-Azhar University, Egypt called for support from Muslims and Arabs for the Palestinian people. Attacks by the Israeli army on the aforementioned university caused complete destruction of the university building, and due to fires and scattered rocks and debris on surrounding streets, it is impossible to access the destroyed location.

Al-Azhar, in issuing a statement while condemning the Israeli army’s transgressions against Gaza, emphasized the presence of all Muslims to support the Palestinian people if this war continues. The statement said: “Targeting innocent displaced persons inside a school that has sheltered them, targeting other displaced persons on the coastal road, the massacre at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital, killing convoys of wounded and destroying ambulances, puts the Palestinian issue to the test.

Israeli aggression necessitates that Muslims, Christians and Jews come to the aid of Palestinians and repel this savage aggression against the children, women, elderly and youth of Gaza. In the face of failure to fulfill religious, human and moral duties, we have no choice but to pray for the support of occupied Palestine.”

The aforementioned statement and the support of Jews and Christians for Palestinians was published while, since the beginning of Hamas attacks on Israel, European, Asian and American countries have witnessed demonstrations by supporters of Palestine and Hamas against Jews. In these 29 days of the Hamas-Israel war, the entire world has witnessed antisemitism, the beating of Jews, the tearing of photos of missing persons and Jewish hostages, yet now Jews and Christians are being asked to rise up in support of Palestine against Israel.
