Break the Necks of Norm-Breakers, I Will Answer for It

Commander “Hassan Mofakhami” issued a threat stating: break the necks of norm-breakers, I will answer for it.

Following nationwide protests during which we witness daily arrests, killings, executions, and torture of freedom-seeking citizens, mandatory hijab compliance has been added to the list. Meanwhile, virtue enforcers have been harassing and tormenting citizens who have not complied with mandatory hijab, and in some cases, this has involved beatings.

Now a video has been circulated on social media depicting another threat from Commander Mofakhami against citizens, in which he refers to rights-seeking people as norm-breakers.

Commander “Hassan Mofakhami,” the police commander of Mazandaran Province, while present at a ceremony held on the Babolsar coast, declared: “In this province and our cities (our coasts), God forbid if anyone wants to act abnormally, by the force of law break their neck and I will answer for it.”

All these crimes, tortures, and executions of innocent people continue even as European countries have yet to take steps to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as “terrorist” or officially declare it as such.

Following these threats by Commander Mofakhami, it seems we must now await the deaths or blindings of many citizens in Mazandaran Province. A government that shows no mercy to its citizens and not only deprives them of their right to choose for whatever reason, but also detains, tortures, imprisons them, and in some cases charges them with serious crimes. Now too, the “firebrands” of the system who have been authorized by the leadership to take any action deemed appropriate, which is not the right of the Iranian people, will once again ignite the embers of revolutionary uprising, and this time by a people who have no fear left in them and will march forward in unity and solidarity until the triumph of this revolution.
