Death Sentences of Protesters Will Be Executed

“Mohseni-Ezhe” announced the execution of death sentences against protesters.

“Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ezhe,” the Head of the Judiciary, while announcing the enforcement of death sentences against protesters, defended the actions of this branch based on issuing death sentences for protesters and stated: “Those who, through their actions and crimes, according to law should have been executed or should be executed, without compromise and of course while fully observing legal standards, justice and fairness, their sentences have been or will be carried out.”

Mohseni-Ezhe’s statements regarding the crimes and actions of protesters were made at a time when in many protester cases, there has been a lack of solid evidence and documents regarding their charges. In this regard, many lawyers and legal experts have reacted and referred to numerous cases that were fabricated and lacked any documentation substantiating the charges against the protesters, while Mohseni-Ezhe spoke of observing legal standards and justice and fairness in this matter.

It should be noted that the news agency “Hrana” also published reports this morning regarding the latest legal status of 25 detainees in nationwide protests who had been sentenced to death.

According to the report by “Hrana” news agency, the news organ of a collection of human rights activists in Iran, in recent days, death sentences of seven protesters have been carried out, and the sentences of ten others have been overturned in the Supreme Court and are under review.

Among the protesters sentenced to death, the death sentence of “Mohammad Ghobadlou” was recently confirmed by the First Chamber of the Supreme Court, and the death sentences of at least 7 other protesters named “Mansour Hoot,” “Nezamoddin Hoot,” “Ibrahim Naroui,” “Abbas (Mujahid) Kurkori,” “Shoaib Mirbalouchzahi-Rigi,” “Mansour Deh-Marde” and “Kambiz Kharoot” were issued in the courts of first instance and are under review by judicial authorities.

In addition to the aforementioned individuals, the death sentences of Reza Aria, Hamid Ghareh-Hasanlu, Sohand Noor-Mohammadzadeh, Hossein Mohammadi, Mehdi Mohammadi-Fard, Arshia Tak-Destan, Javad Rouhi, Saman Seidi (Yassin), Mahan Sadarat Marni (Sadat Madani) and Mohammad Boroghani have been overturned at different time intervals, and their cases have been referred to an equivalent court chamber.
