“Abdolkarim Abedini”: The Quran States That Jews Are Our First-Degree Enemies

“Abdolkarim Abedini,” the Friday prayer imam of Qazvin, stated that according to Quranic verses, Jews are our first-degree enemies.

Ayatollah Abdolkarim Abedini, the Friday prayer imam and representative of Ali Khamenei in Qazvin, while requesting that Friday prayer imams address a weekly Friday prayer program titled “Enemy Recognition Centered on Jews,” announced: “In the weekly Friday prayer program, sermons must be delivered about the oppression of Jews so that people fundamentally understand what is meant by the enemy.”

Referring to the fact that based on Quranic verses in Surah Al-Jumu’ah, verses 5 to 8, enemy recognition centered on Jews is demonstrated, he added: “Jews are external enemies and hypocrites are also internal enemies. From ancient times, we have had external and internal enemies. Internal enemy does not mean there are enemies within Iran’s borders; rather, this issue must be viewed globally. For example, if the Saudis bombed Yemeni missiles midway before they reached occupied territories, they should be called internal enemies.”

The Friday prayer imam of Qazvin, again referring to verse 39 of Surah Al-Anfal in the Quran, continued: “This surah says, O believers, fight against the disbelievers so that there is no more sedition and corruption. Sedition has two major manifestations; one of its manifestations is Jews, and another manifestation is hypocrites and those who cause sedition.”

It should be noted that following the Hamas terrorist group’s attack on Israel and the beginning of the war, political and military officials, as well as religious authorities and representatives of the Supreme Leader in the provinces, in coordination with Friday prayer imams and the Islamic Propaganda Organization, are attempting to launch an anti-Jewish campaign by referring to the Quran. Ali Khamenei also announced after meeting with a group of Basij members: “The policy of the Islamic Republic is not to dump Jews and Zionists into the sea, but we must know that they are our enemies.”

In recent months, the presence of security forces and Basij members at the tomb of Esther and Mordecai clearly demonstrated anti-Jewish sentiment. Security forces prevented Jews from holding ceremonies and prevented their presence at the tombs of Esther and Mordecai.
