Students Stage Sit-in and Protest Rally Against Execution of Isfahan House Case Defendants

Students held a sit-in and protest rally at their university in opposition to the execution of those convicted in the Isfahan house case.

Following the execution of the defendants in the Isfahan house case and widespread reactions from various communities against the executions, on Saturday morning, 30 Ordibehesht, students at universities in various cities also staged protest rallies and sit-ins in opposition to the execution of Majid Kazemi, Saleh Hashemi, and Saeed Yaqubi.

Beheshti University, the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University, the Student Club of Tehran University, Tarbiat Modares University, students of Isfahan University, and several other universities whose names have not been identified participated in these protests.

Students expressed their opposition with handwritten signs reading: “Our silence is betrayal, complicity with crime—Stop the killings, let us breathe—Stop the executions—Religious and sectarian discrimination, enough is enough, let’s rise up—Resistance until freedom and equality.” They demanded an end to executions.
