Trial of Ali Pourtatbabaei Held on Charge of Publishing Falsehoods

Today, Monday, the trial of Ali Pourtatbabaei on the charge of publishing falsehoods was held.

Ali Pourtatbabaei, editor-in-chief of the Qom News website, was detained for a period last March following the publication of reports regarding the poisoning of students. It should be noted that no trial has been held so far regarding the factors behind the students’ poisoning.

The first session of Ali Pourtatbabaei’s trial was held today, Monday, corresponding to August 9. He, who is active on Twitter under the name “Khizaran,” wrote in his Twitter account: “The first session of my trial regarding the charge of publishing falsehoods was held. The honorable judge asked me to defend myself against the charge of publishing falsehoods with the intent to disturb public opinion, and I presented my documents and made my defense. Additionally, regarding the charge of contact with foreigners, which was raised under the title of espionage, a cease of prosecution order has been issued.”
