Death of ‘Kiomarth Poonahmad’ Due to Heart Attack or Suicide

‘Kiomarth Poonahmad,’ a director, screenwriter, editor, and producer, passed away this Wednesday morning, the 16th of Farvardin, at the age of 74.
Some media outlets reported his death as a heart attack, while his friends narrated the story differently. Poonahmad’s friends informed the film magazine ‘Film Today’ that Kiomarth Poonahmad’s death was voluntary. The magazine ‘Film Today’ also wrote: ‘Kiomarth Poonahmad committed suicide due to depression and despair about the future, ending his life.’
Reports indicate that Kiomarth Poonahmad this morning in the coastal town of Anzali, after writing an eight-page letter, hanged himself and ended his life.
His body was transferred to the coroner for examination to determine the actual cause of death. According to the statements of the Gilan prosecutor, upon receiving the death report, the special homicide investigator arrived at the scene and with preliminary investigations, confirmed the suicide of this film director, but the details require careful judicial examination.
