54 Lawyers Summoned for Supporting Mahsa Amini’s Family

54 lawyers were summoned to the Boukan General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office for their support of the family of “Mahsa Amini.”
The Dadban Institute reported the summoning of 54 lawyers by the Second Investigation Branch of the Boukan General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office on the 20th of Tir.
On September 18, 2022, the aforementioned lawyers issued a statement condemning the killing of Mahsa Amini and the violent conduct of judicial police toward women. In this statement, they also announced their legal support for Mahsa Amini’s family.

The killing of Mahsa Amini by regime forces provoked reactions from numerous political activists, journalists, lawyers, and others to the extent that many of these individuals were summoned, detained, and imprisoned by the intelligence, security, and judicial organizations of the Islamic Republic.
Many lawyers also protested to judicial authorities through various statements regarding the arrest and execution of citizens and condemned their actions. Now, 54 lawyers from Boukan have been summoned to have their cases examined, which involved supporting the Amini family.

To counter the continued popular uprising, the Islamic Republic regime has increased the number of crackdowns and arrests in an attempt to prevent protests. However, the Iranian people continue to move forward each day more united and stronger than before in pursuit of the revolutionary uprising and the freedom of Iran. The people’s response to these mass summonses is that we will not abandon one another and will continue until the victory is achieved.
