Abbas Kurkori Sentenced to Death over Killing of Kian Pirfalak

A death sentence for Abbas Kurkori has been issued by the Izeh Revolutionary Court on charges of murdering Kian Pirfalak.

On November 16, 2022, following protests in Izeh city, a number of citizens came under attack, during which 10-year-old Kian Pirfalak was shot and killed. Several others were also injured in the attack.

However, different narratives exist regarding this incident. Pirfalak’s family stated that no Izeh citizens are responsible for Kian’s death, but rather that security forces fired on their vehicle. Meanwhile, the regime detained several Izeh citizens as rioters on charges of “corruption on earth” and attributed Kian’s killing to them.

According to the judiciary’s report, after the indictment was issued, the hearing on charges against Abbas Kurkori, son of Abolghasem, known as Mujahid, was held in the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court with the defendant and his lawyer present. During the court session, the prosecutor general and revolutionary prosecutor of Izeh read the indictment, and while describing various aspects of the committed crimes by the defendant and his accomplices in Izeh city and elaborating on different dimensions of the indictment, demanded the harshest legal punishment for the defendant.

Abbas Kurkori has been sentenced to death by the judiciary on charges of drawing a weapon with intent to intimidate, “corruption on earth,” firing weapons of war, disrupting public order, causing extensive damage to public property, and the death of seven people including Kian. However, this sentence is not yet final and is subject to appeal in the Supreme Court of the country.

After the indictment was read and the charges were explained by the court president, Abbas Kurkori was placed in the defendant’s position and in his defense said: “I accept the charges and the main reason for my committing these crimes was being influenced by the virtual space environment. Under those circumstances, given extensive virtual propaganda, I obtained weapons intending to carry out sabotage acts and participated in riots, and then proceeded to shoot along with my accomplices.”

A confession not unlike other forced confessions by loved ones who lost their lives. A confession in which many detained citizens stated they carried out these actions under the influence of the virtual space. A lie that is repeated daily and is considered believable by the regime’s people. While not only all Iranian people but people throughout the world have seen through the regime’s repetitive lies and threadbare scenarios.

Abbas Kurkori is also a citizen imprisoned in the regime’s failed decaying scenario, forced to confess to murder, and all under the influence of the virtual space.

The Islamic Republic regime has once again placed its own crimes on the shoulders of freedom-seeking citizens and is dragging innocent people to the gallows. Crimes that are endless, and the consequences of which are paid by the just and freedom-seeking people.
