A 5-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles the City of Khoy Again

A 5-magnitude earthquake shook the city of Khoy once again

The city of Khoy, which has been dealing with earthquakes since September 2021 and has suffered significant damage, continues to experience multiple earthquakes and numerous aftershocks even six months later.

Yesterday, Thursday, on the 25th of Esfand, a 5-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Khoy at 15:17 hours, with its aftershocks ranging from 2.5 to 3.8 magnitude continuing for an hour afterward.

The epicenter of this earthquake was reported to be near Khoy Airport. The earthquake resulted in no fatalities, with 3 injured reported so far and minimal damage to houses.

The city of Khoy has also experienced multiple earthquakes and aftershocks in recent months that are beyond normal patterns. Many residents of Khoy who lost their homes in the initial earthquake in the city are still living in tents, and the government has not provided any special attention to their situation. The people of Khoy remain anxious.
