People’s Boycott of Mihan Company Led to Name Change to Bernard

Iranians have boycotted Mihan company products for some time, which prompted the Mihan company to change its name to Bernard.

A report dated October 9th of the current year circulated on social media regarding the cooperation of Mihan company’s cargo trucks with security forces. In this report, it was claimed that Mihan company transported plainclothes security forces from the elite units and Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in their trucks. The transport of security personnel in these trucks was intended to avoid suspicion.

In three instances, including plainclothes security forces attacking Sharif University, attacks on Razavi University in Mashhad, and gatherings of families of detainees in front of Evin Prison, Mihan company vehicles were spotted in the vicinity of these locations.

According to public opinion, the owner of Mihan company has exploited patronage and lobbying with those in power for years to expand his business. But today we, the people, are vigilant and aware, and we declare that companies that have cooperated with the Islamic Republic regime—especially food companies which are the economic foundation of a nation—must pay the price, and through boycotting their products, we express our protest against this cooperation.

Iranians also stated that we should have initiated this alliance for boycotting earlier and also boycotted other food items such as poultry, rice, meat, and dairy products.

Millions of online jobs have been lost during this period; the boycott of Mihan company is not particularly significant. Even Digikala, which is an online shop, was added to this boycott, and we will continue with these boycotts.

As for Mihan company, which is said to have been boycotted by the people, in a controversial video that went viral on social media, it is attempting to break this boycott.

Other videos that went viral on social media from the people also show that this company, by changing the name of its products from Mihan to Bernard, has proceeded to sell its products.

It was also reported in Lorestan Province that Mihan company distributed gift cards among shopkeepers to pressure them into purchasing from Mihan company. People who had boycotted this company stated that our refusal to buy from this company has had good results, and the Islamic Republic and its affiliated companies want to deceive people with money as in the past so they will purchase from this company. We say no to the Islamic Republic and Mihan company, and long live victory and freedom for Iran.
