Three Suspects Arrested for Assault on a Minor in Zarand Dasht
Hrana News Agency – The head of the judiciary in Zarand Dasht county announced the identification and arrest of three suspects accused of assaulting a 15-year-old minor in the county, stating that cases have been filed against the suspects under the charges of “kidnapping, assault, and murder.” Recently, reports regarding the assault of a minor in Zarand Dasht county and his suspicious death following the incident were published on social media. In response to this event, today, Thursday, September 24th (Shahrivar), some citizens of Zarand Dasht held a protest gathering in front of the county courthouse building.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organization of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, the head of the judiciary in Zarand Dasht county announced the identification and arrest of three suspects accused of assaulting a minor in the county.
Recently, reports regarding the assault of a minor in Zarand Dasht county and his suspicious death following the incident were published on social media. The identity of this minor, “Amir Hossein Khademmi, 15 years old, resident of Zarand Dasht county,” has been verified by Hrana.
It is reported that the lifeless body of the minor was found one day after disclosing the sexual assault to his family and referral for legal medical examination by law enforcement, prior to going to the legal medicine office on the outskirts of the city.
Today, Thursday, September 24th, a number of citizens in Zarand Dasht county held a protest gathering in front of the county courthouse building in objection to this incident and demanded the prosecution of the suspects in this case.
A video related to this matter was published on social media in which the head of the judiciary in Zarand Dasht county appeared among the protesting crowd and provided some explanations regarding the matter.
Mohammad Amin Ansari, stating that three suspects in this case have been identified and arrested, said: “Following the report of assault by three individuals on a young person from Zarand Dasht and his suspicious death, the suspects have been identified and are being held in custody by order of the judicial authority.”
He also added: “The investigation of the aforementioned case falls within the jurisdiction of the criminal courts of the province, and judicial measures have been taken to complete judicial procedures and submit the case to the higher judicial authority.”
The head of the judiciary in Zarand Dasht county continued: “The statements made by the deceased’s family regarding kidnapping and murder are also under the review of the judicial authority with the formation of a legal case file.”
