Arrest of Suspects in Sexual Assault Cases in Saravan

Hrana News Agency – The prosecutor of Saravan County announced the arrest of a group accused of “violent sexual assault” in the county, stating that this group threatened and assaulted women on roads outside Saravan city and produced videos for extortion purposes from these citizens.

The prosecutor of Saravan County, detailing the information, stated: “A number of young girls and women from Saravan County filed complaints with the prosecution office, reporting that when they were meeting with their friends on a road outside the city, a group of “violent sexual assaulters” suddenly attacked them and subjected them to threats and extortion. Immediate orders were issued to pursue this case.”

Aliresa Biglarzadeh added: “In their complaints, these young girls stated that the assailants had filmed the incidents and threatened to publish the videos and photos on social media, intending to repeat their demands, and they carried out extortion by receiving sums of money.”

According to this judicial official, following these complaints, with court orders and intelligence operations by the awareness police of Saravan County, “members of this group were arrested on July 27 and in initial interrogations admitted to the crimes they committed.”

The Saravan prosecutor emphasized: “Members of this group have also committed similar other crimes, and a number of complainants have already filed reports so far, and identifying other victims is on the agenda, and the case is undergoing further investigation.”
