Naftali Bennett Bids Farewell to Israeli Premiership and Political Life

Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of Israel, announced upon stepping down from his position that he does not intend to run as a candidate in the upcoming Knesset elections.
Bennett announced on Wednesday evening at a session of the “Yamina” party that he does not plan to be a candidate in the upcoming Knesset elections and is withdrawing from the world of politics.
He also announced the transfer of leadership of his party to “Ayelet Shaked.”
Through an emotional statement, while defending his government’s performance, he said he will remain a soldier of the country and described serving his nation as his destiny.
According to Knesset reports, on Thursday morning, the government will be finally dissolved in the second and third readings, after which “Yair Lapid,” Israel’s Foreign Minister, will formally assume the position of Prime Minister.
