227 Parliament Members Call on Judiciary to Execute Protesters

227 members of parliament, in a letter addressed to the head of the judiciary, called for the swift execution of protesters who have been sentenced for moharebeh (enmity against God).
In a statement read during an open session of parliament yesterday, Iranian protesters were compared to ISIS. People who took to the streets over the past two months seeking justice for Mahsa Amini’s blood and other loved ones killed in the protests have faced beatings, arrests, suppression, and death at the hands of the Islamic Republic’s security forces. People who came to the streets empty-handed seeking justice are now being labeled as ISIS.
Exactly coinciding with the fortieth day commemoration of Mahsa Amini, when protests expanded, the Metropol incident and the terrorist attack at the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz also occurred, resulting in deadly shootings. The Islamic Republic claimed this terrorist attack was the work of ISIS; however, all Iranian people, by comparing these events with the cinema Rex incident before the revolution, believe these attacks were carried out by the Islamic Republic government to discredit the protesters.
Since the start of the protests, not only Iran but the entire world has witnessed the crimes of the Islamic Republic against protesters. According to reports from human rights organizations, more than three hundred protesters have lost their lives due to the violent suppression by government forces; this is while Mr. Qalibaf claimed that the Islamic Republic’s security forces do not use firearms to suppress protesters in order to prevent harm to people.
Here’s the point! So how were all these innocent people who were killed in pursuit of justice murdered? The shootings from close range directed at people were carried out by whom?
Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper, who is among the hardline figures close to the leader of the Islamic Republic, also emphasized that the parliament members’ demand to confront protesters must be executed without delay.
As for the Iranian protesters, they demand that this news be spread throughout the world so that with the message “#DoNotExecute” we can prevent another crime.
